Love Mary B: A Teacher's Life

"Teaching is the noblest, most unselfish and honorable profession."
-Leonard Bernstein

Life Story Theatre is pleased to bring to your attention an enlightening and informative educational program for your faculty, students and community entitled Love Mary B: A Teacher's Life. Through this presentation audiences are welcomed into the world of an inspiring classroom teacher in the highly accomplished dramatic performance of Barbara Bourgeois, a renowned Boston theatre and film actress.

Love Mary B is a charming and uplifting tale adapted from the letters of a retired 96 year old school teacher with her wry and insightful observations spanning two centuries. Mary's reflections speak not only of her rich personal experiences and lessons, but also a deep compassion for her students that is still so valuable for all educators today.

This engaging production has been presented to considerable praise at universities, schools, theaters and communities both regionally and nationally. The following words of acclaim are what audience members have said in response to the lessons of Love Mary B:

  • Mary B's class brought back so many special memories of my favorite teachers.
  • We can all still learn new lessons of life by listening to this loving teacher.
  • Being with Mary B was moving, inspiring and educational. Many thanks, Mary.
